O.J. Sultemeir

LAMPASAS — Services for O.J. Sultemeir, 77, of Lampasas will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Glynn Tyson officiating.

He died Friday, Jan. 18, at an Austin hospital.

Mr. Sultemeir was born Dec. 10, 1930 in Blanco to Rudolf Sultemeir and Emilie Hansen Sultemeir. He married Ruby Grace Harrigal on Sept. 27, 1957, in Austin. He was a draftsman for Central Texas College and had been a city engineer for the city of Waco prior to that. He was also a farmer and rancher. He served in the U.S. Army with the FEC Signal Service Battalion 8235th Army Unit in Tokyo, Japan, during 1953 and 1954. He was baptized in the Central Christian church as a boy, and had been attending Adamsville Baptist Church. He was a member of AMVETS and VFW and Farm Bureau. He was preceded in death by his wife in April 2007.

Survivors are two daughters, Dawn McDonald and Kristi Sultemeir, both of Lampasas; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
