Graveside services for Otho Lee Roy Grimes, 99, of Andrews, formerly of Temple will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Pendleton Cemetery near Temple with the Rev. Jakie Shirley officiating.
Mr. Grimes died Sunday, Jan. 20, in Andrews.
He was born Nov. 24, 1908, in Erath County near Hico to John Franklin and Lou Ella Grimes. He lived most of his life in Bell County where he farmed. In 1941, he went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad. He married Bonnie Maurine Webb on April 6, 1930, in Waco. He retired in 1973. He and his wife were charter members of the Texas RR Date Nail Association and each year he would bring home many awards for his displays. He was a deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple and later at the First Baptist Church of Little River. He was also a Mason. In 1986 they moved to Andrews to be near his son and family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years in 2003.
Survivors are his son, Morris Dale Grimes Sr. of Andrews; two sisters, Frances Wall of Waco, Dot Watts of Temple; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
