Burial will be in Owens Cemetery in Marion, Ky.
A rosary will be recited following the service.
He died Friday, Jan. 25.
Mr. Maxfield was born on Jan. 25, 1951, in Crittenden, Ky., to Vernon Maxfield and Emma Brashier Maxfield. He married Mary Salazar on Nov. 5, 1977. He was a Baptist. He served his country and retired with an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army after more than 20 years of service. He was a member of the DAV. His military awards include, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/one Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal w/three Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), Vietnam Service Medal w/two Bronze Service Stars, NCO Professional Development Ribbon Numeral 2, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Expert Badge Pistol, Sharpshooter Badge Rifle, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation Badge w/Palm and National Defense Service Medal w/Service Star. He was working as a maintenance supervisor with the Temple 4C.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Bradley Driver of Marion, Ky., and Vance Thomas Maxfield of Troy; three brothers, Joe Maxfield of Plesanton, Kan., Jim Maxfield of Marion and Dennis Maxfield of Nashville, Tenn.; three sisters, Joyce Troutvetter of Evansville, Ind., Myra Louise Watson of Marion and Doris Rushing of Fredonia, Ky.; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
