Services with military honors for John E. Neceda, 77, of Temple will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with the Rev. Frank Dearing and the Rev. Gary Baxley officiating.
Private burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Neceda died Friday, Jan. 25, at a local nursing home.
He was born June 15, 1930, in Czechoslovakia to Stephen Neceda and Anna Kupso Neceda. He came to the United States at an early age and lived in New York for many years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. He worked as a mechanical design engineer for Texas Instruments until his retirement.
He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and Austin Rose Society.
Survivors are his wife, Julie Neceda of Temple; two sons, Richard Neceda and Tommy Neceda, both of New York; two daughters, Dorothy Neceda of New York and Anne Marie Leone’ of New Jersey; a stepson, James Knapp of North Carolina; three stepdaughters, Ann Sitton of Houston, Carole Huff of Luling and Charlie Cromer of Kentucky; a sister, Helen Cambalik of New York; and six grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
