LAMPASAS — Graveside services for Velma M. Medders, 89, of Lampasas will be 2 p.m. Monday in Center Cemetery near Lometa.
Mrs. Medders died Friday, Feb. 8, in a Lampasas hospital.
She was born Nov. 12, 1918, in Lampasas County to George Jefferson Jennings and Mary Jane Dooley Jennings. She married Denver Medders, Dec. 20, 1936, in Lampasas. She worked for Producer’s Produce in Lampasas and saw that company through several name changes retiring when it was Armour Turkey Plant. She was a member of the Chadwick Home Demonstration Club many years ago. She was the great-great-granddaughter of Gordan C. Jennings who fought at the Alamo. Her husband; infant daughter; three brothers; one sister; and her parents preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Eugene Medders of Haughton, La.; Richard Medders of Lometa; one daughter, Mary Patricia Kelly of Lampasas; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.
