LAMPASAS — Services for Thelma A. Smith, 103, of Lampasas, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.
Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery in Oakalla.
She died Monday, Feb. 11, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Smith was born August 15, 1904 in Burnet County to Emil Henry Lockman and Minnie Griebsch. She married Buck Smith on June 8, 1929 in San Antonio. She attended Southwest Texas Teacher’s College in San Marcos, and was a classmate of Lyndon B. Johnson. She taught all of John B. Conolly’s children. She was a homemaker. She also served as assistant postmaster at the Oakalla Post Office. She was active in civic and church activities, and the Retired Teacher’s Association.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Hansford B. Smith of Lampasas and Arthur Paul Smith of Oakalla; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
