Memorial services for Corinne Talley Daniel, 91, of Temple, will be 11 a.m., Saturday, at First Baptist Church in Temple.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mrs. Daniel died Wednesday, Feb. 20, at a Temple hospital.
She was a native of Temple was born on Oct. 8, 1916 to the late Dr. and Mrs. L.R. Talley, who were pioneers of this city. She graduated from Temple High School. She received the Outstanding Alumna Award from Mary Hardin-Baylor University in 1977, where she studied music while still in high school. She attended Baylor University for two years and was selected as Sophomore Beauty. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a B.A. Degree in 1938; there she was selected as a Bluebonnett Belle Nominee, and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma social sorority.
She married John B. Daniel Jr. in 1940. She was a lifetime active member of First Baptist Church. She organized and led Temple’s first Girl Scout Troop in 1948. She was a member of various organizations; a few are the American Red Cross, the Parent Teachers Association, American Cancer Society, and the Temple Infantile Paralysis Association.
Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Daniel Fisher of Longview and Dr. Britt Talley Daniel of Dallas; a daughter, Kay Daniel Harrell of Dallas; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 102 West Barton Avenue, Temple, Texas or to Scott & White Hospital, Temple, Texas.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home.
