Services for Jesus Ortiz, 98, of Temple, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Temple Full Gospel Holiness Church.

Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery.

Mr. Ortiz died Friday, Feb. 22, at a local nursing home.

He was born Nov. 7, 1909, to Aurelio and Maximinia Castillo Ortiz in Copeland. He married Aliphonsa Munoz. He was a farmer and worked at a local manufacturing company. He lived in this area most of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Jesus Ortiz Jr.; and a daughter, Rachel Ortiz.

Survivors include three sons, Moses Ortiz of Grand Prairie, Inocencio Ortiz of Temple and Isaias Ortiz of Taylor; three daughters, Elida Ortiz of Red Oak, Susena Conde and Divina Castro both of Temple; one sister, Trine Alderete of Taylor; 33 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
