ABILENE — Graveside services for Grace Marie Fortson, 87, of Temple, formerly of Abilene will be 10 a.m., Friday in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene.

Mrs. Fortson died Tuesday in a Temple nursing home.

She was born Oct. 8, 1920 in Vian, Okla. She married Dale Fortson on Feb 28, 1942. In 1962, she moved to Abilene, following her husband’s retirement from the Air Force. She was a homemaker. She moved to Temple in July of 2007. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ in Abilene. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 39 years in 1982.

Survivors include a son, Michael Lynn Fortson of Temple; a daughter, Judith Dale Bradley of San Angelo; one sister, Wanda Stanton of New Braunfels; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scott & White Hospice in Temple.
