Frank T. Kuban

Services for Frank T. Kuban, 86, of Temple will be 11 a.m. today at First Christian Church in Temple with Dr. Jerry Kirkpatrick officiating.

Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park with military honors.

Mr. Kuban died Wednesday, Feb. 27, at his home.

He was born April 8, 1921, to Frank and Anna Kubin Kuban in Caldwell. He moved to Temple at an early age and graduated from Temple High School in 1939. He attended Baylor University. He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was part of the South Pacific Invasion Team on Guam and Iwo Jima. He married Bobbye Jo Johnson on Feb. 20, 1949, in Altus, Okla. He retired in 1984 as a civil engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad after more than 40 years. He was a member of First Christian Church in Temple where he was an elder emeritus and also was past president of the Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years; a daughter, Melissa Cain of Rockwall; two sons, Greg Kuban of Temple and Robert Kuban of Nacogdoches; a brother, Fred Kuban of Temple; a sister, Dorothy Kuban of Temple; and six grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, 300 N. Fifth St., Temple 76501.
