Services for Marvin Willard Lemmons, 92, of Temple will be 1 p.m. Friday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple with the Rev. Chris Mesa officiating.
Burial will be in Moody Cemetery.
Mr. Lemmons died Friday, Feb. 29, in Grand Prairie.
He was born Aug. 9, 1915, in Old Howard, to Willard Neal Lemmons and Carrya May Joyce.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, from 1940-45, in the 143rd Infantry, 36th Division. He was an ammunition driver and earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. He served in campaigns in Naples, Rome, Southern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe, and was awarded the EAME Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead; American Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He returned to Temple after his discharge and began driving a truck for various businesses. He married his first wife, Dorothy Daphene Chaney, who preceded him in death in 1977. He married his second wife, Dola Nobles and retired from driving a truck for Budweiser Distributing Company. He then worked for many years operating a milk store.
Survivors include a son, Terry Lemmons; a daughter, Linda Saucedo; a stepson, Bill Nobles, a stepdaughter, Susan Jochec; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Oak Park United Methodist Church in Temple, VistaCare Hospice in Temple, or Vitas Hospice of Fort Worth.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
