Sgt. Robert L. Hampton

KILLEEN — Services for Sgt. Robert Lewis Hampton, 26, of Killeen will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.

Burial will be 2 p.m., Tuesday in Monahans.

Sgt. Hampton died Tuesday, March 11, in Killeen.

He was born Sept. 2, 1981 to Robert Douglas Edwards and Debbie D. Hampton in Monahans. He has lived in the Fort Hood area since December 2007, moving from Fort Sill, Okla. He worked in field artillery in the U.S. Army. He served two tours of duty in Iraq. His military awards and honors include: Army Commendation Medal; Army Achievement Medal; Army Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Iraq Campaign Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; Marksman Qualification Badge Sharpshooter Ribbon.

Survivors include his wife, Christy Hampton of Killeen; a son, Caleb Lewis Hampton of Killeen; a daughter, Rachel Leann Hampton of Killeen; a brother, Scott Ceynowa of Mason; two stepbrothers, Alex Hautzenroeder of Sugarland and Joseph Hautzenroeder of Fla.; a stepsister, Brenna Hautzenroeder of N.M.; father of Lucasville, Ohio; mother of Rockdale; a stepfather, John Hautzenroeder of Sugarland; grandparents, Burl Jack Edwards of Proctorville, Ohio, Bonnie Cook of Lucasville, Ohio, Ada and David Hautzenroeder of Los Angeles.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. – noon, Monday at the funeral home.
