ROCKDALE — Services for Roy Yates, 67, of Rockdale will be 1 p.m. Friday in Moore Memorial Garden Cemetery in Arlington.

Mr. Yates died Tuesday, March 18, at his home.

He was born May 12, 1940, to Curtis and Opal C. Martin Yates in Dallas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in New Jersey, Greenland, Vietnam and other bases as a jet engine mechanic. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic at Ford Tractor Heavy Equipment Dealership in Fort Worth for 22 years. He married Mary Louise Tate on Aug. 18, 1985, in Rockdale.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years of Rockdale; a daughter, Lacy Whitt of Cedar Park; two stepsons, Lonnie Ginn of South Lake and Larry Ginn of Keller; a stepdaughter, Lori Anne Burk of Olathe, Kan.; a sister, Linda Carlene Mullins of North Richland Hills; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale is in charge of arrangements.
