ROCKDALE — Services for Joseph E. Miller, 77, of Rockdale will be 2 p.m., Monday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockdale with the Rev. Gregory Hanks officiating.

Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery in Smithville.

Mr. Miller died Friday at a Rockdale nursing home.

He was born, Jan. 11, 1931 to Paul Richard and Annie Mary Matula Miller in Smithville. He was employed in the Potrooms at ALCOA. He married Jo Ann Tanecka on Nov. 17, 1953 in Smithville. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockdale, Rockdale Knights of Columbus No. 7014, Rockdale V.F.W. Post No. 6525 and served in the U.S. Navy. Preceded in death by two sons, Ernest Paul Miller in 1955 and Michael Lane Miller in 1956; and a granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years; two sons, Gary Joe Miller of Taylor and Alan Dale Miller of Rosebud; a brother, Johnny Miller of Ventura, Calif.; two sisters, Louise Hannusch of Smithville and Millie Maio of Riverside, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Sunday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
