ROCKDALE — Services for La Von Taylor, 69, of Bryan will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with the Rev. Kenneth Rhodes officiating.

Burial will be in the Hugh Wilson Cemetery in Tanglewood.

Mrs. Taylor died Wednesday, March 26, at her home.

She was born Oct. 2, 1938, to Lonnie and Velma Farmer Smith in Milam County. She married Joe A. Taylor Sr. on July 10, 1954, in Lexington. She was a homemaker. She attended Conoley Church in the Conoley Community near Thorndale. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years.

Survivors include a son, Joe A. Taylor Jr. of Katy; three daughters, Wanda Wagnon and Stacy Scott, both of Bryan and Terry Simmons of Shepherd; a brother, Alvin Smith of Dallas; two sisters, Mary Kirchenwitz and Patricia Baker, both of Rockdale; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
