Mr. Kyser died Friday, March 28, at a Temple hospital. The body will be cremated.
He was born Feb. 1, 1936, to James Eldridge Kyser Sr. and Lilla Owen Kyser in Kerens. He grew up in Round Prairie community about 12 miles south of Kerens and attended school in Kerens. He married Bobbie Ruth Fowler on Dec. 9, 1961, in Corsicana. He worked as a truck driver for J.T. Arnett of Corsicana and later for the construction company that built the Stillhouse Hollow Dam. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years and a son, James Keith Kyser in 2000.
Survivors include a son, Terry L. Kyser of Rogers; a stepson, Donald Prowell of Enis; a stepdaughter, Margaret Prowell of Georgia; a sister, Kay Reeder of Heidenheimer; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Sheffield Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
No visitation is planned.
