ROCKDALE — Services for Eva Sides, 96, of Rockdale will be 2 p.m. Monday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with the Rev. Chuck Salmon officiating.

Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.

Mrs. Sides died Friday, March 28, in a local nursing home.

She was born Aug. 15, 1911, to Melvin Weems and Ellie Moore Weems in Cameron. She graduated Rockdale High School, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockdale and lived there most of her life. She married Forrest B. Randle Jr. and later married Marvin Sides, on Jan. 22, 1982, in Rockdale. She retired as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell.

She was preceded in death by her first husband.

Survivors include her husband of 26 years of Rockdale; a son, James B. Sides of San Antonio; a brother, Jack P. Weems of West Columbia; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
