King’s Daughters Clinic building outpatient center

King’s Daughters Clinic of Temple will break ground at 10:30 a.m. today on a $4 million outpatient surgery center.

The Surgery Center of Temple LLC is a joint venture with King’s Daughters Hospital and physicians.

“We are excited to offer a state-of-the-art facility, which will provide efficient and cost-effective care for our patients in the community,” said Kristi Glover, CEO of King’s Daughters Clinic.

Specialties working out of the surgery center include: general surgery, GI, ophthalmology, gynecology, podiatry, orthopedics, pain management, otolaryngology (ENT) and urology.

Construction by Beck-Ford is expected to be complete by December 2008. The 10,400-square-foot facility will be on 1.441 acres adjacent to King’s Daughters Clinic’s main building.

The Temple Area Chamber of Commerce will celebrate today’s event with a ground-breaking ceremony.

King’s Daughters Clinic has locations in Killeen, Belton and Temple and has been serving Central Texas for 80 years.

The clinics employ 44 physicians in 23 specialties.

The medical group is physician-owned and is governed by a board of directors, composed of seven King’s Daughters physicians.
