During early voting, all voters will cast ballots at city hall. This is a change for school district voters who are accustomed to casting their ballots at Temple Independent School District administration offices. In the school district, Mary Loving is running against incumbent Dorothy Powell for the District 2 seat, TISD officials said.
For in-person voting on Election Day, all polling locations will be based on city council district boundaries. Also, since the school board districts do not line up with the city council districts, those casting ballots in the city and TISD elections will have to fill out separate ballots.
“The whole purpose of this is ‘one-stop polling,’” Ms. Entzminger said.
“When you go to your polling place you are going to be able to vote for your city council member if they are running and the city bond election and the TISD trustee district,” she said.
“We encourage people to vote early because that does take all of those issues about where to go vote on Election Day out of the picture.”
Ms. Entzminger said voters may contact the city secretary’s office at 298-5700 for questions.
