Olga Richter Haney, 93, of Temple died Monday, April 28.

Services were held Wednesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Pastor Pat Dietrich and Minister Joe Baisden officiating.

Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mrs. Haney was born Oct. 17, 1914, in Round Top to Fredrick Charles and Vera Noak Richter. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Temple since 1945. She was the youth director, a choir member and a Sunday school teacher. She worked for J.C. Penney. She graduated from Temple Junior College and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She was the art teacher for all the schools in the now-disbanded Bell County School System and St. Mary Catholic School.

In 1940, she married John F. Haney. He preceded her in death.

Survivors are a daughter, Bernadette Cuba; a brother, Wilbert Richter of Jewett; a sister, Isabella Smith of Taylor; and two grandsons.

Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
