KILLEEN — Services for Rubye LaValle Altman, 64, of Killeen will be 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Killeen.
Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
Mrs. Altman died Tuesday, May 6.
She was born Nov. 4, 1943, to John and Ruby Prinzing in Temple. She graduated from Temple High School, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Baylor University. She worked as an educator for 35 years, 33 of those with KISD retiring as principal of Duncan Elementary. She served as president of the Bell County Reading Association, the 6th area representative on the Texas State Reading Board of Trusties, member of Phi Delta Kappa, lifetime member of the Texas PTA, active member of the Texas and Killeen Retired Teachers Associations and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Killeen where she taught second-grade Sunday school and was a choir member. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles David Altman Jr.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Charles D. Altman Sr.; two daughters, Diane Dombkowski and Deborah Altman; a sister, Rena Prinzing; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, Killeen.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
