Glen Ray Manning

GATESVILLE — Services for Glen Ray Manning, 76, of the Pidcoke community will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gatesville Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery in Purmela.

Mr. Manning died Friday, May 9.

He was born April 1, 1932, to the late Travis Ezra and Ora Lee Huggins Manning in the Elijah community of Bell County, now part of Fort Hood. He was raised and educated in the Pearl community. He married Antha Smith in 1951, and later settled in Killeen. He was a custom homebuilder. He was employed with KISD as a builder and retired in 1996. He performed in the monthly Pearl Bluegrass gatherings. He was a member of the Pearl Church of Christ. His wife preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Mark Manning of Killeen; four daughters, Glenda Dennison of Pidcoke, Sonja Sims of Killeen, Elaine Guidry of Gatesville and Debbie Manning of Belton; a brother, Eugene Manning of San Angelo; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Smith Cemetery Association or to the Pearl Community Center.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
