KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Services for Dr. Lawrence Wayne Hart of Fairway, Kan., will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Village Presbyterian Church.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Dr. Hart died Saturday in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Corsicana to John and Ellen (Lee) Hart. He graduated from the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II. He then located to Kansas City as the first medical director of Children‘s Mercy Hospital. He served 30 years in the U.S. Army Reserves, attaining the rank of colonel, and as commanding officer of the 325th General Hospital Unit. He received the Legion of Merit Award. He practiced child and adolescent psychiatry in many settings including Ozanam and Crittenton. He was a member of the Village Presbyterian Church and volunteered at the Village Food Pantry.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Hart; two sons, Lance Hart and Sean Hart; a daughter, Kendall Lacy; and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ozanam, 421 E. 137th, Kansas City, Mo., 64145.
Park Lawn Funeral Home in Kansas City is in charage of arrangements.
