Frances Marie Watson

Services for Frances Marie Watson, 90, of Topeka, Kan., formerly of Temple, will be 10:00 a.m. Monday in Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.

Mrs. Watson died Wednesday, May 14, at a Midland hospice.

She was born Aug. 26, 1917, to Elmer Ray and S.A. Grinnell Anderson in Americus, Kan. She married Everett Raymond Watson on April 1, 1939. She lived in Silver Lake and Temple before returning to Topeka. She graduated from Seaman High School in 1934 and Washburn College in 1938. She was a member of Silver Lake United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a committee member. She was also a member of Beulah Chapter 34, O.E.S. (past matron), Topeka Assembly 24 Social Order of Beauceant (past president), 4-H leader and the Shawnee County Extension Council. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 8, 1996.

Survivors include four sons, Dr. Linley Watson of McGregor, Dr. Danny Watson of Birmingham, Mich., Dr. Henry Watson and Leslie Watson, both of Topeka; a daughter, Jennie Hetzer of Somerset, Pa.; a brother, Kenneth Anderson of Romeville, Ill.; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Road, Topeka, KS 66604 or Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606-2800.

Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, Kan.
