COPPERAS COVE — Services with Masonic rites for Elmer Lee Hamm Jr., 80, of Copperas Cove will be 2 p.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove with the Rev. Stephen Schmidt officiating.
Burial will follow with full military honors in Killeen Memorial Park.
Mr. Hamm died Thursday, May 15, in a Killeen hospital.
He was born Nov. 30, 1927, to Elmer L. Hamm Sr. and Julia V. Coil Hamm in Chapin, Ill. He married Lena Mae Dobson and later married Doris Spiegelhauer Voight. He retired from the U.S. Army after 23 years of service. During his army career, he was a nuclear weapons assembly foreman for the Defense Atomic Support Agency. He then owned and operated a Shell Station for 34 years in Copperas Cove. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove, of Masonic Lodge No. 3 in Jacksonville, Ill., Masonic Lodge No. 595 in Copperas Cove, Karem Shrine Temple in Waco and of the Bluebonnet Model A Club in Copperas Cove. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 45 years.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years of Copperas Cove; two sons, Tom Hamm of Arlington and Ray Hamm of Llano; two daughters, Janet Melton of Kempner and Judy Burch of Copperas Cove; a foster son, Roy Roach of Quitman; three stepchildren, Randy Voight of Terrell, Sherry Houser of Lacey, Wash., Cindy Yancey of Copperas Cove; nine grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Sheppard Funeral Home of Copperas Cove.
