Services for Walter Thomas Love, 80, of Temple will be 10 a.m. Monday in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.

Mr. Love died Friday, May 16, in a local nursing home.

He was born Sept. 9, 1927, to James L. and Harriett Curb Love in Bartlett. He served in the U.S. Navy, January 1946-November 1948, as a Seaman 2nd class. He married Mildred “Millie” E. Shafer on June 14, 1952. He worked as an inspector for the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and he was a Baptist. A son, Robert S. Love, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years; a daughter, Shenna Herbert of Humble; and six grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
