A second closure is tentatively scheduled from 7 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday. A third closure is tentatively scheduled from 10 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday.
If necessary, a fourth closure is tentatively scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Tuesday, June 3. All closures are weather permitting.
The temporary closures will allow construction crews to remove the existing eastbound and westbound South Loop 363 bridges as part of the interchange reconstruction project under way at that location.
Northbound and southbound I-35 traffic will be temporarily detoured to the frontage roads at Exit 299 and back to the interstate at the next entrance.
Eastbound and westbound loop traffic will temporarily detour via 57th Street and Midway Drive, respectively, in order to avoid the work site.
Temple Police Department will assist with local traffic control through the work zone.
TxDOT advises motorists on both I-35 and South Loop 363 in Temple to avoid the area, if possible. Heavy congestion and delays should be expected during the overnight hours of these temporary closures.
