Esther Herschler

SULPHUR SPRINGS — Memorial services for Esther Herschler, 82, of Sulphur Springs will be 1 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs with the Rev. Charles Moore officiating.

A private family graveside service will be prior to the memorial service.

Mrs. Herschler died Saturday, May 31, in Sulphur Springs.

She was born Sept. 18, 1925, to Herbert and Bernice Rohloff in Shelby County, Tenn. She married Paul D. Herschler on May 11, 1945, in Houston. She worked for Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in the business office and for Southern Milk Sales as a lab technician. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Northeast Texas Choral Society.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years of Sulphur Springs; two sons, Paul D. “Chip” Herschler Jr. of Sulphur Springs and Richard V. Herschler of Temple; a brother, the Rev. Herbert Rohloff of Houston; a sister, Cecil A. Tarver of Dallas; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Sulphur Springs City Cemetery, P.O. Box 651, Sulphur Springs 75482 or the Northeast Texas Choral Society.

West Oaks Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs is in charge of arrangements.
