Services for Roy Alvin Ford, 82, of the Old Bottoms Community of Troy will be 10 a.m. Monday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home of Temple with H.K. Ballard and James Lefan officiating.
Burial will follow in Roberts Cemetery in Troy with military honors.
Mr. Ford died Thursday, June 19, in a local hospital.
He was born Dec. 20, 1925, to Benjamin Franklin and Pearl Dockery Ford in the Bottoms Community. He received the Purple Heart as a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, while serving in Germany. He married Charlsy Jordan on June 1, 1956, in Wolfe City. He received his master’s degree from Sam Houston State University. He worked for Texas Power and Light, now TXU, as a farm service advisor, retiring after 32 years of service. He was a longtime active member of the Church of Christ in Troy.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years of Troy; a son, Ricky Allan Ford of Fort Worth; a daughter, Charessa L’lan Ford Johnson of Gillette, Wyo.; two sisters, May Greenway of Oenaville and Bennie Oliver of Bridgeport; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
