Luther N. Davison

Services for Luther “Dave” Norman Davison, 79, of Temple will be 10:00 a.m. today in Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Ernest Thompson officiating.

Mr. Davison died Thursday, June 26, in a local hospital.

He was born Nov. 29, 1928, to Jim and Rosa Clausel Hendon Davison in Savannah, Tenn.

He married Daphadeene “Deene” McConnell on July 18, 1973. He entered the U.S. Army in 1947 and retired after 20 years of duty. His military awards include the First Oak Leaf Cluster to National Defense Service Medal; Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Bronze, 4 Loops; Good Conduct Medal-2nd Award; UN Service Medal; Army Occ Medal/Japan; Army Occ Medal/Germany; and the Korean Service Medal. He worked as an appliance repairman and carpet layer. He was Baptist. He was preceded in death by first wife, Beatrice Mesecke, and two children in 1966.

Survivors include his wife, Deene of 31 years; six children, Verna Deene Chlapek of Burnet, Verlon G. Davis of Harker Heights, Debbie Medrano of Irving, Earlene Barnes of Pendleton, Laura Futch of Belton and Kelly Gene Davison of Temple; three brothers, Dewey Davison of Osceola, Ark., Hollis Davison of Denver, and Kenneth Davison of Osceola, Ark.; a sister, Debbie Robertson; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
