PORT LAVACA — Mrs. Frances Hardin Locklin, 88, of Port Alto, formerly of Thorndale, died Wednesday, July 2.
Services for will be 9 a.m. Saturday at Bayside Community Church in Olivia with B.J. Hall officiating.
Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Locklin Cemetery in San Gabriel.
Mrs. Locklin was born Dec. 12, 1919, to Walter D. Hardin and Florence Brown Lucas in Austin. She graduated from Thorndale High School in 1937. She married C.F. “Tige” Locklin on March 18, 1939. They lived in Boling from 1959-1964, where she attended Wharton County Junior College and became an LVN. In Austin, she worked at St. David’s Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1983 and moved to Port Alto. She was a member of Bayside Community Church, where she played the piano. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years; and a son, Lendon Cody Locklin.
Survivors include five daughters, Mary Thornton of Austin, Jane Ann King of Port Alto, Linda Jo Maddox of Spring, Donna Beth Richardson of Deland, Fla., and Debbie Gryder of Houston; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Bayside Community Church.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca.
