Services with full military honors for Roger Nieves Rios, 54, of Temple will be 10 a.m. today at Branford/Dawson Funeral Home in Temple with the Rev. Edwin Ayala officiating.

The body will be cremated.

Mr. Rios died Wednesday, July 9, in Temple.

He was born March 5, 1954, to Raul Nieves and Maria De La Cruz in New York City. He graduated from the New York Public School System. He married Iris Nieves on June 14, 1975. He was a Catholic. He retired from the U.S. Army after more than 20 years of service as an E-7.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years of Temple; a son, Roger Nieves II of Temple; a daughter, Marisol Nieves of Temple; four brothers, Raul Nieves and Danny De La Cruz, both of New Jersey, and Raul Nieves and Denny Nieves, both of Puerto Rico; four sisters, Sally Lopez and Nancy De La Cruz, both of New Jersey, and Mayra Nieves and Gladys De Mara Nieves, both of Puerto Rico; and his mother of New Jersey.
