Loyd A. Cantrell

MARLIN — Military graveside services for Loyd A. Cantrell, 81, of Chilton will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Oakwood cemetery in Waco with the Rev. William “Bill” Pack officiating.

He died Friday, July 11.

He was born Oct. 26, 1926, to William C. and Ocie Fleming Cantrell in Littlefield. He married Peggy Beeman Jan. 2, 2003 in Waco. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, serving in Korea and Vietnam for more than 20 years. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Christine Cantrell; and a grandson.

Survivors include his wife of Chilton; a son, Truett Cantrell of Corpus Christi; four daughters, Denise Runk, Dianne Cantrell, Patti Rosas, all of Temple, and Carolyn Crawford of Chesterfield, Va.; four sisters, Joyce Pack of China Spring, Valerlee Crabb of Weatherford, Geraldine Jones of Morgan’s Point and Verlene Obermier of Milwaukee, Wis.; 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Monday at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin.
