TEXARKANA — Mary Neal Poston, age 91, of Temple died Saturday, July 12, in Temple.
A private graveside service will be held for the family.
A memorial service will be noon Tuesday at Texarkana Funeral Home on Texas Boulevard.
She was born May 7, 1917, to Rufus Lindley Conditt and Georgia Harrison Conditt in Tuckerman, Ark. She had been a resident of Texarkana from 1943-2002, moving to Temple in December 2002. She was a graduate of North Texas State Teachers’ College and a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa sorority. She was also a member and past president of Chapter V of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was involved in Texarkana organizations and served as president of most, including the Jaycee-etts, Opti-Mrs, Rose Garden Club, Texas Federation of Womens’ Clubs, charter member of Women for the Arts, and served on the Religious Emphasis Commit-tee, Board of Museums, Institute for Aging, and was instrumental in organizing the first Ladies Investment Club of Texarkana.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church of your choice or a P.E.O. scholarship fund.
Survivors include her son, Paul Gray Poston, Jr. of Temple; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
