Temple College presidential finalists

Five finalists were interviewed during the past two weeks for the Temple College president’s position. TC spokeswoman Susan Howe said a decision could be made during Monday night’s board meeting for the position. Hans Rosemond and Scott Gaulin/Telegram
Dr. Dennis Brown

Vice president of instruction/chief academic officer, El Paso Community College

Education: Ph.D., New Mexico State University, major in educational administration, 1986. M.A. Arizona State University, with major in speech communication, 1975; bachelor of science, Northern Arizona University, major in speech and theater, 1973; A.A. Arizona Western College, major in speech communication, 1971.

Dr. Kathy Matlock

President, Southeastern Community College, Whiteville, N.C.

Education: Ph.D. in educational administration, The University of Texas at Austin, 1988 (Community College Leadership Program). M.A. in sociology, Texas State University, 1982; bachelor of science in education, Texas State University, 1974.

Dr. Johnny Moore

Vice president for student affairs, Indian River College, Fort Pierce, Fla.

Education: Ph.D. in mathematics education, Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, Fla. 2002; M.S. in mathematics, Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, Ark., 1991; bachelor of science in mathematics, Philander Smith College, Little Rock, Ark., 1989.

Dr. Glenda Barron

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, Austin

Education: Ph.D., The University of Texas at Austin, 1994. M.Ed. with major in business education, McNeese State University, Lake Charles, La., 1977; bachelor of science with major in business education, University of Houston, 1974; certificate, Panola College, Carthage, 1968.

Dr. James Martin

Vice president for student affairs, Pensacola Junior College, Pensacola, Fla.
