GATESVILLE — Services for Jack Smith, 74, of Gatesville will be 10 a.m. today at Gatesville Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Greenbriar Cemetery.

He died Wednesday, July 16, at his home.

He was born Jan. 25, 1934, to the late Henry and Willie M. Culpepper Smith in Many, La. He served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on Aug. 18, 1958. He married Mary Catherine Featherston on July 27, 1979. They moved to Gatesville in 1980. He was a truck driver and recently retired from POCO Automotive in Gatesville.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years; six sons, Jack Smith, Bud Beckett and Billy Beckett, all of Gatesville, Jimmy Beckett of South Carolina, and Donald J. Smith and Thomas W. Smith; three daughters, Jackie Smith, Patricia Miller and Rebecca Williams, all of Gatesville; three brothers, Bill Smith, Roy Smith and Bob Smith; two sisters, Mary Lou Veuleman and Sue Hare; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
