CAMERON — Services for Ona Lorene Barnes, 92, of Dallas will be 2 p.m. today at the Little River Baptist Church near Jones Prairie.

Burial will follow in the Little River Cemetery.

She died Friday, July 18, in Dallas.

She was born Sept. 14, 1915, to Will and Sally Ann Hasty Brown in Davilla. She married Earl Barnes on March 18, 1939, in Rosebud. She was a homemaker. They farmed in Weslaco, 1950-1966. While in the Valley, she was a member of the First Baptist Church and was active in numerous community activities including serving as a 4-H leader. She was a member of the Little River Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years in 1997 and a daughter, Joan Brace in 2006.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Earl Barnes of McAllen; a daughter, Peggy Lorene Wentrcek of Dallas; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the Little River Cemetery Association.
