Services for J.T. Tutor, 75, of Temple will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home of Temple with Frank Tutor officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
He died Friday, July 18, in a Temple hospital.
He was born Aug. 6, 1932, to Thomas Jefferson Tutor and Alice Ophelia Lee Tutor in Levita. He moved to Temple in 1944. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, retiring in 1972 as a master sergeant. He was an assistant administrator of Tutor Nursing Home and owner of Tutor Farm. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shriner Sunset Chapter in San Antonio. He was former commander of American Legion Post No. 133. He attended First Christian Church in Belton.
Survivors include three sons, Frank Allan Tutor of Cleveland, James Tutor and Dennis Dale Tutor, both of San Antonio; five stepsons, Mark Cohen and Seth Cohen of Pflugerville, Everett Kuhen of Mansfield, and Gary Kuhen and Robert Tutor, both of Temple; two brothers, Ray Van Tutor of Temple and Chester Dean Tutor of Georgetown; a sister, Annie Ellis of Temple; 11 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
