ROSEBUD — Services for James Wilson Lewis Sr., 94, of Rosebud will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud with the Rev. Leo Morgan officiating.

Burial will follow in Barclay Cemetery.

He died Saturday, July 19, in a Rosebud nursing home.

He was born Aug. 28, 1913, to James and Sarah Wilson Lewis in Milam County. He worked as a stillman for Gulf Oil Company in Port Arthur for 36 years and moved to Rosebud in 1980. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and served in Europe and France. He married Opal Stephens on Sept. 16, 1939. He was preceded in death by his wife.

Survivors include a son, James Wilson Lewis Jr. of Garland; a sister, Dixie Pelzel of Ben Arnold; two grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.

Memorials may be made to the Barclay Cemetery Association.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
