ROSEBUD — Bennie Lee Stanke, 77, of Marlin died Sunday, July 20, in a Temple hospital.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud with the Rev. Billy Crow officiating.

Graveside services will be noon Wednesday in Marquez Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 1, 1931, to Ernest and Minnie Richter Stanke in Travis. He lived most of his life in the Terry’s Chapel community in Falls County. He married Lorraine Stevens. He worked as a carpenter and as a cotton ginner. He was preceded in death by his wife.

Survivors include a brother, Raymond Stanke of Zabcikville and a sister, Elsa Carlisle of Marquez.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
