LAMPASAS — A Mass of Christian Burial for Ben L. Gonzales Jr., 74, of Lampasas will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lampasas with the Rev. Pedro Castillo officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
He died Friday, July 25, in a local hospital.
He was born Aug. 25, 1933, to Bernabe S. Gonzales and Basilia Lopez Gonzales in Lampasas. He grew up in Lampasas and attended local schools. He worked at Fort Hood as a civil service employee for 23 years. He married Ester Rios. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lampasas.
Survivors include his wife of Lampasas; three daughters, Christina Marez, Bessie White and Geneva Karcher, all of Lampasas; three stepsons, Albert Rios and Ronald Rios, both of San Antonio, and Jay Rios of Lampasas; three stepdaughters, Elaina Hernandez of Garland, and Christina Barrios and Cindy Martinez, both of San Antonio; a brother, Martin Gonzales of Lampasas; two sisters, Adela Miller and Mary Castro, both of Lampasas; four grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.
