Garlin Joseph Green, 79, of Temple died Saturday, July 26, in a local hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with the Rev. Don Loftin officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Cyclone.
He was born April 18, 1929, to William and Mathilda Helble Green in Meeks. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Joyce Miller on Dec. 27, 1952, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Temple. He owned Garlin Green’s Garage, where he worked as a mechanic for 38 years. He was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars and St. Luke Catholic Church in Temple.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years of Temple; three sons, David Green of Academy, Jay Green of Temple and Alan Green of Rogers; two brothers, Melvin Green of Rockdale and Michael Green of Temple; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601-7633.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
