COPPERAS COVE — Memorial services for Roy Morris Thomas, 63, of Kempner will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove with Dr. Mark Kemp officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Jefferson Memorial Park in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Mr. Thomas died Wednesday, July 30, in a local hospital.
He was born Dec. 25, 1944, to Vaughtie L. and Robert Thomas of Burnsville, N.C. He married Kathryn Ann Baggus on Sept. 10, 1966. He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. He was a partner in Gary’s Heat and Air Conditioning until retiring in 2006. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Disabled American Veterans. He lived in the Kempner community for 27 years. He was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church in Burnsville, N.C.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years of Kempner; two sons, Roy M. Thomas Jr. of Kempner and Stephen M. Thomas of Lubbock; two brothers, Rev. Russell Thomas and James Thomas; three sisters, Vivian Beaudreau, Frances McCurry and Peggy Ray; and three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Welch Foundation Scholarship Fund, 2846 Tonkawa Road, Copperas Cove, Texas 76522 or to the charity of your choice.
