KILLEEN — Services for Freddie Leo Gibson, 47, of Killeen will be 12:30 p.m. Monday at Pershing Park Baptist Church in Killeen.
Burial will follow in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Gibson died Monday, July 28, in a Temple hospital.
He was born April 26, 1961, to Freddie and Elizabeth Brown Gibson in Bristol, Pa. He graduated high school in Timmonsville, S.C., in 1979. He was active in the Florence Boys and Girls Clubs and volunteered at the local recreation center. He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Timmonsville, S.C. He served in the U.S. Army, 1979 to 1983. His decorations include: Army Good Conduct Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon; NCO Professional Development ribbon (Numeral 2); Sharpshooter (Hand Grenade); and Marksman (Rifle). He moved to this area in 1982 and attended the Pershing Park Baptist Church and the Full Gospel Church. He was employed with Pactiv.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa Gibson of Killeen; a son, Quran Johnson of Dallas; two daughters, Deniese Pierre and Michelle Pierre, both of Killeen; three brothers, James, Stanley and Mark Gibson, all of South Carolina; and four granddaughters.
Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. today at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen.
