GATESVILLE — Services for Irene Long, 91, of Gatesville will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Gatesville Funeral Home in Gatesville with Charlie Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Levita Cemetery.

Mrs. Long died Sunday, August 3, at a local nursing center.

She was born Mar. 29, 1917 in Paige to Ernest A. and Ellie Kunkel Graeter. She was raised and attended school in Paige. She married Nelton Lewis Long on Sept. 19, 1946, and he preceded her in death in 2000. They moved to Coryell County. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Nelton Long Jr. of Gatesville; four daughters, Phyllis Thornton of Dallas, Darlene Brown, Nelrene Merritt, both of Gatesville, and Patricia Clayton of Houston; three brothers, Harold Graeter of Memphis, Tenn., Leon Graeter of Burnet, and Lee Roy Graeter of Niederland; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to VistaCare Hospice, 2626-B S. 37th, Temple, 76504, or to the Levita Baptist Church, 4460 FM 930, Gatesville, 76528.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
