ROCKDALE — Services for Genie Vinton, 79, of Milano will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with the Rev. Bert Graham and the Rev. Dave Lucas officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Mrs. Vinton died Sunday, August 3, at her residence.

She was born Oct. 18, 1928, in Milam County to John Clayton and Katie Mae (Springer) Williams. She was a school secretary for Milano I.S.D. and retired after 31 years. She married Gerald “Bigon” Vinton Jan. 17, 1947 in Rockdale. He preceded her in death Dec. 17, 1997. She was a member of Milano First Baptist Church and very active in the Milano community.

Survivors include a son, Gary Vinton of Milano; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
