BELTON — Services for Mary Ellen Parks, 80, of Salado will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Salado Church of Christ with Joe Keyes officiating.
Burial will be in Salado Cemetery.
Mrs. Parks died Monday, August 4, in a Temple hospital.
She was born Jan. 27, 1928 in Denoya, Okla. to Wallace Gerald and Gertrude Elsa (Balch) Scott. She married Lloyd L. Parks Aug. 20, 1948 in Tulsa, Okla. They moved to Salado in 1992 from Houston and also lived in Denver, Indianapolis, and Calgary, Alberta. She was a member of Salado Church of Christ. She taught children’s bible class for 50 years. She was an accomplished artist and was a member of the Salado Village Artist group where she was selected Artist of the Month on more than one occasion.
Survivors include her husband of Salado; three daughters, Connie Jo VanSchuyver of Houston, Karyn Ann Parks of Phoenix, Ariz., and Rebecca Lee Fritzson of Frisco; a brother, Wallace Gerald Scott Jr. of Florissant, Mo.; two sisters, Marjorie Jones of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Peggy Smith of Great Bend, Kan.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to Salado Church of Christ, Children’s Fund.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
