Sadie Shelburne, 83, of Temple, formerly of Waco died Wednesday, Aug. 6, in a Temple nursing home.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Oakwood Cemetery in Waco with Ted Kelton and Dick Goodwin officiating.
Mrs. Shelburne was born April 16, 1925, to the late Samuel Saleem and Willie Mae Cunningham Betros in Waco. She married Kenney Shelburne on Feb. 14, 1945. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Mound, the Lebanese Ladies Club and the Book Review Club of Mound. After retiring, she moved to Gatesville to manage their ranch. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years in October of 1993.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Hilliard of Belton, Judy McBride of Troy and Carol Kelton of Atlanta, Texas; two brothers, George Betros and Don Betros, both of Waco; a sister, Mary Adele Lewis of Bryan; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5–8 p.m. Friday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
