ABILENE — Virgil Lee Money, 59, of Abilene, formerly of Temple died Wednesday, Aug. 6, in Abilene.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.
Mr. Money was born March 11, 1949, to Virgil G. “Bud” Money and Marian Whitlow Money in Temple. He lived in Temple for 50 years. While there, he attended a special school for a number of years and later an adult daycare workshop under the sponsorship of the Temple area Mental Health-Mental Retardation center. His parents, along with other parents of special needs children, were instrumental in establishing some of these programs. He attended Western Hills Church of Christ. After the death of his mother in 2003, Mr. Money moved to Abilene State School.
Survivors include his brother, Dr. Royce Money of Abilene.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Family Association of the Abilene State School, 2501 Maple St., Abilene, 79602.
Visitation will be 6–8 p.m. today at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple.
