JASPER, Ga. — Mr. James Scott Barnes Sr., 55, of Jasper, Ga., formerly of Temple died Thursday, Aug. 7, at his home.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Foothills Community Church with the Rev. John Reale officiating.

Burial will follow in Lake Forest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Barnes was born Jan. 31, 1953, to James Lester “J.L.” Barnes and Helen Barnes in Temple. He worked as an electrician with Byrd Electric and was a member of the Foothills Community Church in Pickens County.

Survivors include his wife, Candy Barnes of Jasper, Ga.; two sons, Nicolas Adam Barnes of Jasper, Ga., and James Scott Barnes Jr. of Florida; two daughters, Brittany Meghan Barnes of Arizona and Tara Barnes of Pennsylvania; a brother, Richard Barrineau of Belton; two sisters, Paula Jeanne Boyd of Virginia Beach, Va., and Cynthia Hart of Marble Hill, Ga.; and his mother of Virginia Beach, Va.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Roper Funeral Home of Jasper, Ga. www.RoperFuneralHome.com
